How mySTOPY works

1. To turn on your mySTOPY, hold the remote control directly next to the taillight and press the button for 2-3 seconds (the remote control should be touching the taillight). The taillight will dim and stay on. Your mySTOPY is now on.

2. Test the function of your mySTOPY by operating the remote control - the braking element falls onto the tire and the rear light flashes.

3. Pull the brake element back up. It is now locked and ready for your ride.

4. Done! Your mySTOPY is now ready to go. Don't forget : To conserve your mySTOPY's battery, remember to turn it off after every ride. To do this, hold the remote control very close to the light and hold it down for a few seconds. The light will dim briefly and then go out.

Easy assembly

  • Remove the saddle

The bolt for securing the caliper must remain in the clamp nut, as it does not fit through the hole in the brake assist.

  • Attach mySTOPY
  • Remount the saddle

Can the wheel roll over when braking?

No, mySTOPY is mounted on the rear wheel and only brakes the rear wheel .
There is no risk of rollover. Of course, we
extensively tested using simulations and test drives.

With mySTOPY we have designed a brake assistant that – like all
braking systems – is used consciously. Therefore, it is also important to
fundamental consideration: What provides more security – The
Activating mySTOPY or failing to do so.

That is why we recommend: Whether cornering, downhill, wet, etc.: The braking behavior
must be adapted to the respective situation. For example, we recommend
When using mySTOPY, always activate the brake assistant in advance, e.g. on various
surfaces to get a feel for the braking behavior.

The braking behavior itself depends on many factors, such as
Example: surface and tire conditions, how fast the child is driving,
Braking in curves, etc.

A loss of stability that could occur due to braking could
This can occur especially when braking in curves. Therefore, when cornering, braking should be
This physical effect is also known from bicycles/motorcycles.

In general, however, a breaking rear wheel can be better controlled
and avoid a fall, as if the front wheel locks.

How was mySTOPY tested?

With the help of the simulation, we were able to show that the child does not feel the braking effect and there is no risk of rollover.

Test conditions under extreme conditions (max. weight and speed):

- Weight 25 kg - Max. permissible weight according to wheel manufacturer

- Speed 15 km/h & 30 km/h - Regular speed +/- 10 km/h

- Frictional resistance index 1.08 (dry concrete)

Result:

- Max. resulting deceleration force on body: 0.52 g (15 km/h)

Should I use the brake when my child is out of reach?

No. You should only activate mySTOPY when your child is within sight, as this is the only way to ensure that the balance bike comes to a safe stop.

What is the sustainability status of mySTOPY?

When it comes to sustainability, our hearts beat even faster:

Because mySTOPY is made for children, we promote sustainability from material selection to packaging:

Our plastics are made from at least 60% recycled materials, and the instruction manual and packaging materials are made from recycled paper.

That's not enough for us, and we're working to consistently increase this percentage further. We avoid unnecessary packaging materials.

The product packaging is also the shipping packaging, so we save one box per shipment and thus conserve natural resources.

Naturally, our paper and cardboard packaging are made from recycled paper. Our suppliers are located locally, which means we can avoid long and unnecessary delivery routes.

The electronic modules are delivered in special reusable packaging. With each delivery, the empty reusable packaging is exchanged for the full one. This way, we reduce unnecessary packaging waste.

Regional sourcing: For us, "Made in Germany" isn't just a label, it's a fact. We source all components and materials from Germany. Unfortunately, a few electronic components (such as the battery) can only be manufactured in Asia. We generate the electricity for our site using our PV system.

Why is there no charging cable included?

Since we attach great importance to sustainability, we have decided to include
to do without a charging cable.

This is one of our contributions to reducing our carbon footprint on the environment. You can find more information about sustainability at mySTOPY on our website in the FAQs under "What's the status of sustainability at mySTOPY?"

Most people already have the necessary accessories at home, so we are convinced that the delivery
without charging cables can help minimize the growing problem of electronic waste.

As a mySTOPY user you can
Simply continue using a compatible charging cable you already have at home. Otherwise, you can purchase one at any electronics store if necessary.

Am I hindering my child from having his or her own experiences?

mySTOPY allows you to intervene when necessary. When necessary. As a supervisor, you can assess when a situation could become dangerous for your child and they are unable to react or act in time. Is your child driving too fast and doesn't see the approaching car? Could they possibly collide with a tree or other large object? We developed mySTOPY for situations like these. If you keep this in mind, your child can still gain important developmental experiences – but safely! Take the time to explain to your child why you slowed down – this way they will develop a sense of road safety and learn to react better to dangerous situations in the future.

Why can't I turn off my mySTOPY?

To turn off the brake assist, you must hold the remote control very close to the light and hold it down for a few seconds .
The light will then dim briefly and then dim completely. Then the brake assist will be off. To turn it on, proceed in the same way: Hold the remote control directly to the light; it will flash briefly. Then press the remote control again and hold it to the light for a few seconds; it will dim briefly and
then your mySTOPY is ready to go again.

What is the battery life of mySTOPY?

A single battery charge allows you to take up to 6,500 shots . The battery lasts for 250 days in off mode and approximately 105 hours in on mode.

Can I pair multiple mySTOPY or remote controls?

Yes! You can pair up to four remote controls with one mySTOPY and an unlimited number of mySTOPYs with one remote control.
